Presentation of a Jubilee Plaque to “St. Clement of Ohrid” University

In frames of the festivities for marking the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Red Cross in Macedonia, an event was held on March 6 at the Faculty of Law in Bitola to promote the platform of the Red Cross of RNM with the university community. During the event, the Secretary General of the Red Cross of RNM, PhD. Sait Saiti, presented a jubilee plaque to the Rector of UKLO, Prof. Dr. Igor Nedelkovski, in recognition of his overall contribution to the development and support of the Red Cross work.

“Our idea is to build a platform for communication between the Red Cross and universities in Macedonia. It is a mutually beneficial exchange where universities, the Red Cross, and beneficiaries will all benefit by creating new services. This is a new ambition within our organization to adjust and take on the responsibility to contribute to society, and one day, as an organization, take on responsibilities to make this country a better place to live for everyone. We will continue our efforts with other universities in our country,” said PhD. Sait Saiti, Secretary General of the Red Cross of RNM.

During the event, a panel discussion on current social topics was held with the university community and the Red Cross, aiming to contribute to the development of policies of social interest. The panelists were Dr. Liljana Ristevska, President of the Red Cross Branch Bitola, Prof. Dr. Goran Ilić, Vice-Rector of UKLO, and Master’s student Danilo Božinovski. The panel was moderated by Prof. Dr. Nikola Dujovski and Prof. Dr. Fadbi Osmani.

The event was attended by vice-rectors, professors, students, and volunteers of the Red Cross, who had the opportunity to learn about the Red Cross’s cooperation platform with the university community. This platform offers students and professors the chance to participate in humanitarian activities through research and scientific work, as well as development of joint programs and projects within the fields of social and humanitarian work, health prevention, and disaster preparedness.

The event served as an opportunity to present the platform and share the initiatives of “St. Clement of Ohrid” University and the Red Cross of the Republic of North Macedonia for strengthening the mutual cooperation.
