The Red Cross has made payments to the families of the victims in the accident in Kochani.
As of today, a total of 102,410,247.00 denars have been raised. So far, the Red Cross of RNM has made payments to the families of all the deceased and injured individuals who are being treated abroad due to the tragic accident in Kochani.
Efforts are ongoing to gather information about the injured individuals in hospitals across the country, in cooperation with the Government’s General and Common Affairs Service. Once the lists are received, payments will be made immediately. We hope to complete this by the beginning of next week. Shortly after, efforts will be made to align the criteria for the disbursement of remaining funds for the affected individuals.
The Red Cross continues to provide psychosocial support to the affected population with the support of more than 100 psychologists in cooperation with the Chamber of Psychologists of Macedonia. In cooperation with schools, daily support is being organized for teachers and students to help them cope with the situation, as well as for members of the Fire Brigade and the Ministry of Internal Affairs. At the request of universities, the Red Cross is organizing first aid and psychological first aid training for students.
Together with our partners, the Red Cross will continue to provide support to the families of the injured as they return to their daily lives through various activities.
In cooperation with the Ministry of Education and Science and the Chamber of Psychologists of Macedonia, the Red Cross will implement activities in the coming period to educate students, teachers, and professional staff on how to deal with stress, timely identification, and reduction of vulnerability caused by crisis and emergency situations, as well as alleviating the consequences on mental health during crises and emergencies.
