The Red Cross made the final payment of the financial support to the victims of the fire in Kochani

Within the appeal launched by the Red Cross of RNM to support those affected by the devastating fire in Kochani, between March 16, 2025, and June 16, 2025, a total of 153,931,166.00 denars were raised. The Red Cross of RNM has carried out several payments to individuals affected by the fire in Kochani.

With the final transfer made today, on June 17, 2025, funds were disbursed to 156 individuals, categorized into 5 groups based on an assessment of the severity of injuries and the prognosis for ongoing treatment, as evaluated by the working group from the Ministry of Health. The total amount disbursed in this final round was 39,750,000.00 denars.

In the coming days, funds will also be transferred to an additional 11 individuals for whom the necessary documentation, including declarations and consent for the use of personal data, is still pending. These individuals were not included in the previous disbursements.

As of June 17, 2025, the total funds transferred to the victims amount to 147.199.101,00 denars.

The Red Cross once again extends its gratitude to all donors who have contributed — and continue to contribute — to the mobilization of humanitarian support for the victims and their families. We remain committed to further mobilizing humanitarian aid to support those affected by the large-scale fire.

The Red Cross continues its field activities, with a focus on providing psychological support in an effort to make a modest contribution toward overcoming the consequences of this catastrophic event. The Red Cross of RNM will soon open a Regional Center for Mental Health and Psychosocial Support in the city of Kochani, which will address the needs of the population in the eastern part of Macedonia.
