On behalf of the Red Cross of the Republic of North Macedonia, we would like to once again express our deep condolences and solidarity with the families of the citizens who were affected by the terrible accident that occurred in Kochani this morning. We share the grief with the families of the tragically deceased, although we are aware that at the moment, there are no words that can comfort their pain and loss. We wish the injured a speedy recovery. In these difficult moments when so many young lives have been lost, we would like to emphasize that the Red Cross of the Republic of North Macedonia, with all its available capacities, in cooperation with state institutions, contributes to providing the necessary support to the families of the victims.

Our Organization has put into operation all mechanisms for humanitarian assistance for the injured and the families of the victims by offering first psychological support, first aid and material support. The Red Cross of RNM also delivered assistance to the hospital in Kochani with blankets, bedding and wheelchairs. The Red Cross vehicles from the sanitary transport program have been put into operation to the institutions of the system.

Dedicated telephone lines for first psychological aid have been opened at the numbers 071/338-081 in Kochani, 074/203-030 in Shtip and 072/271-048 in Skopje, which will be operational 24/7.

The Red Cross of RNM has already been contacted by the International Committee of the Red Cross and partner Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies and assistance has been offered.
