Workshop on positioning the role of the Red Cross of North Macedonia for response and adaptation to climate change

From June 9–11, 2025, the Red Cross of the Republic of North Macedonia organized a workshop at the Solferino Training Center in Struga, on the topic: Positioning the role of the Red Cross of North Macedonia in response and adaptation to climate change.

The working meeting was attended by representatives from the Red Cross of North Macedonia, the Ministry of Environment and Spatial Planning, the Institute for Public Health, the World Health Organization, and the United Nations Development Program.

The aim of the workshop was to provide guidelines and priorities for the strategic and systemic positioning of the role of the Red Cross in responding to climate change in North Macedonia, in close coordination with relevant institutions and international partners.

Based on the activities presented by representatives of relevant institutions and international organizations regarding adaptation, response, and coping with climate change, as well as the discussions and group work, recommendations were made for the development of an internal system and the inclusion of the Red Cross of North Macedonia in the national institutional response to climate change.
