Happy May 8 – World Red Cross and Red Crescent Day
Dear volunteers, employees, supporters, and respected members of the public,
On the occasion of May 8 – World Red Cross and Red Crescent Day, we stand before a value that is not measured in words, but in actions; a value that cannot be fully explained, but must be lived – humanity.
At the core of human existence, beyond all the differences that shape us, there is one quiet yet profound shared truth: every person is vulnerable, and every person can be a source of comfort to another. In this mutual interdependence lies the true meaning of humanity – not as an obligation, but as a fundamental human connection.
Today, more than ever, the motto “United in Humanity” reminds us that a true community is not built on similarity, but on the ability to recognize another person in their pain, hope, and dignity.
Today, we are not only marking a date, but reaffirming a lasting commitment: that humanity is not a distant ideal, but a practice of everyday life.
