Marking the HIV/AIDS Awareness Week

In accordance with the calendar of traditional activities, The Red Cross of the Republic of North Macedonia, will mark the HIV/AIDS Awareness Week under the motto: “Educate Yourself, Prevent HIV/AIDS.” in the period of 1–7 December 2025.

According to the findings of the World Health Organization, HIV remains a major public health issue affecting more than 2 million people in the WHO European Region, while globally more than 40,000,000 adults and children are living with HIV.

Within the Awareness Week, the Red Cross branches and the City Red Cross of Skopje will carry out activities aimed at raising awareness among the youth population through the implementation of peer-education workshops in secondary schools, creation of short educational videos with messages about HIV prevention, sharing information and posters on social media, and other activities for HIV/AIDS prevention.
