Marking the Week of Fight Against Tuberculosis

The Red Cross of the Republic of North Macedonia will mark the Week of Fight Against Tuberculosis from September 14 to 21, 2025. In doing so, we aim to raise public awareness on the importance of overall health, the social and economic impact of tuberculosis (TB), and to encourage accelerated efforts to end the global TB epidemic.

Tuberculosis remains a deadly killer worldwide. Every day, over 4,000 people lose their lives to TB, and nearly 30,000 people fall ill from this disease, which is both preventable and curable.

This year’s motto for the Red Cross of the Republic of North Macedonia’s TB Awareness Week is: “Yes! We can end TB.”  Local Red Cross branches and the City Red Cross of Skopje will organize workshops, share posts on social media, and conduct many other promotional activities during the week to raise public awareness about the prevention and timely diagnosis of tuberculosis.
