Red Cross participation in regional training on protection of older women

The Red Cross of the Republic of North Macedonia participated in the regional training “Recognizing and Responding to Abuse and Violence Against Older Women”, organized within the framework of the SHAPE project (Strengthening Health, Access, Participation and Social Equity in Western Balkan Countries). The training was held in Belgrade, Republic of Serbia, from 1 to 3 June 2026.

The training enabled participants to enhance their knowledge and skills in identifying various forms of abuse and violence against older persons, with a particular focus on older women. It also explored approaches and mechanisms for ensuring appropriate support, protection, and timely intervention in cases of violence and abuse.

The event served as an important platform for exchanging experiences and good practices among organizations from across the region, as well as for strengthening mutual cooperation aimed at improving the quality of life, safety, and dignity of older persons. As part of the event, a partnership meeting of the organizations implementing the SHAPE project was also held, focusing on upcoming activities and further coordination of the project’s objectives.
