The Red Cross and the Ministry of Interior: A Model of Excellent Cooperation

The Secretary General of the Red Cross of the Republic of North Macedonia, Sait Saiti, and the Minister of Interior, Panče Toškovski, signed a memorandum of cooperation between the Ministry of Interior (MoI) and the Red Cross.

The memorandum serves as a foundation for further institutional collaboration in the areas of humanitarian action, prevention and response during crisis and emergency situations, joint activities in the fields of security, education, training, and the promotion of volunteerism and solidarity within the community. The signing of the memorandum will enable more efficient coordination between the two institutions in the interest of citizens and their well-being.

Secretary General Sait Saiti emphasized that the existing cooperation between the two institutions has already been more than satisfactory, but that this memorandum aims to enhance it by regulating new areas of joint action that will more effectively address emerging challenges.

“By implementing the provisions of this memorandum, we will be able to develop and produce new forms of cooperation that will allow us to increase the humanitarian impact of our work in society,” highlighted Secretary General Saiti.

Minister Toškovski expressed deep gratitude to the Red Cross for all the support it has provided—not only to the Ministry but also to the state and its citizens—and stated that strengthening this cooperation is aimed at increasing the positive impact on the country and its people.

“This type of institutional collaboration should serve as a model for how successful cooperation in the interest of the state should be conducted. The memorandum of cooperation we are signing today will only further strengthen the foundation for its advancement in the future. I am confident that the results we achieve going forward will be even better thanks to this improved cooperation,” Minister Toškovski stated at the memorandum signing.
