Training on mental health corner for children in emergencies
From June 24 to 26, 2025, a training titled “Mental Health Corner for Children in Emergencies” was held in Budapest, organized by the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies. The aim of the training was to strengthen participants’ capacities for planning, implementing, and supporting such mental health corners in emergency contexts.
The training was based on the principles of inclusion, participation, and protection, and consisted of interactive and practical sessions. A representative of the Red Cross of the Republic of North Macedonia attended the training, along with representatives from other National Societies involved in mental health and psychosocial support programs.
Several key topics essential for the development and implementation of mental health corners for children in crisis situations were covered during the training. Special attention was given to needs assessment from a child’s perspective, with the goal of ensuring active participation and genuine inclusion of children in the process.
