PERSONAL ASSISTANCE SERVICE FOR PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES
Personal assistance to persons with disabilities is a social protection service, which provides support to persons with severe and most severe physical disabilities and persons with impaired vision aged 18 to 65 years in terms of their independence, according to their individual needs. The personal assistance service aims to contribute to the independent living of persons with disabilities and their active and equal participation in the community and in society as a whole.
Personal assistance as a service is tailored to the personal and individual needs of the client, who decides which activities to delegate and to whom, thus enabling him/her to live in a less restricted environment, i.e. enables him/her freedom of choice and independent management of personal life in order to compensate his/her disability by delegating his/her tasks to others.
The Red Cross of the Republic of North Macedonia is licensed by the Ministry of Labor and Social Policy as a service provider for the delivery of personal assistance services to persons with disabilities. The services at the local level are realized in cooperation and with the support of the centers for social work. Personal assistance services are delivered through:

Service Providers: The service for personal assistance for persons with disabilities is delivered by certified personal assistants, acquired through a verified special training program for personal assistant for persons with disabilities.
Service clients: Persons with severe and most severe physical disabilities and persons with completely impaired vision aged 18 to 65 years.
Delivered services: The personal assistance service is delivered to provide individual assistance and support:
- in performing basic and instrumental activities from the daily life in the home of the client;
- at the workplace, educational institution, rehabilitation center, center for professional rehabilitation and other places where activities related to performance of work tasks, education and work training of the client are realized;
- in the community, and
- other activities of interest to the person.

SERVICE FOR ASSISTANCE AND CARE FOR ELDERLY AND DISABLED PERSONS
“Care” Center
The Care Center is a service for home care and care for elderly and frail people provided by certified and professional caregivers, for persons who are not able to care and function independently, but do not want to be placed in an institution, but want care it in the comfort of their own home.
The Care Center continuously works on raising awareness of the need for professional and quality home care, provided by certified care givers and constantly works on upgrading the capacities of care givers working in the field through trainings, workshops, meetings for exchange of experiences and study visits.
The wide range of care services includes basic and additional services, and a separate package of services is prepared for each client depending on individual requirements and needs. After the assessment of the team and in agreement with the client, an appropriate caregiver is assigned, who is previously acquainted at an additional meeting.
