Training for peer educators for prevention of human trafficking

A training workshop for trainers for peer educators for prevention of human trafficking waqs held in the period 21-24,08,2020 in the Red Cross Training Center “Solferino” in Struga. The emphasis was on migration and the training was financially supported by the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies. The workshop was attended by a total of 11 representatives of Red Cross branches on the territory the City Red Cross of Skopje, and representatives of the Red Cross branch Bitola, Red Cross branch Kumanovo and representatives of mobile teams engaged in the transit centers in Vinojug and Tabanovce. During the training, the objective was placed on the importance of applying the methodology of peer education in programs that directly relate to the health and safety of young people. The sessions were conducted in accordance with the handbook for peer educators of the Red Cross of RNM which is in accordance with the “Standards for Peer Education” of the World Health Organization and the handbook for combating trafficking in human beings of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies. The types of human trafficking, phases, precautionary measures as well as methods of prevention were elaborated in detail, as well as the Standard Operating Procedures for dealing with victims in the country and the anti-trafficking system of the Republic of North Macedonia.
