The Red Cross of the Republic of North Macedonia, in accordance with the recommendations of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, joined the marking of March 24 – the World Day against Tuberculosis (TB) under the motto: “Yes! we can end TB”. In this way, we want to raise public awareness on the importance of general health, the social and economic impact of tuberculosis (TB) and to encourage the acceleration of efforts to end the global TB epidemic.
Every day, over 4,000 people die from TB and nearly 30,000 people fall ill from this preventable and curable disease. Tuberculosis mostly affects adults in their prime years. However, all age groups are at risk.
