8 May World Red Cross and Red Crescent Day

We are In front of the marking of 8th of May – The World Red Cross and Red Crescent day and the week of the Macedonian Red Cross 8-15 of May.

8th of May represents an opportunity to give respect for the extraordinary humanitarian work that millions of devoted professionals and volunteers across the world are doing every day. This day represents an opportunity for the Movement to speak jointly in a global voice and to highlight the values and credits to those that are most responsible for our existence – The volunteers.

In 2015 we are celebrating 50th anniversary from the adoption of The Fundamental principles of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement. In this occasion we are joining the global campaign of the International Federation of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies campaign under the moto “Our principles in action”.

In the frames of the ceremonial marking there will be 70-th year’s jubilee awards given to long term volunteers that have special contributions in the development of the Macedonian Red Cross, as well as a promotion of a post stamp that will additionally promote the joint devotion for a more human society.

The event will take place on 8th of May at 10:30 in the premises of the Macedonian Red Cross.
