Conducted Hygiene Promotion Trainings
The Red Cross of the Republic of North Macedonia, conducted two training sessions on hygiene promotion in the period of 23-24 December, 2024. The training sessions covered 36 volunteers from 28 local Red Cross branches and the City Red Cross of Skopje. The goal of the training was to enhance the knowledge and skills of Red Cross volunteers in one of the simplest yet most powerful tools for preventing infectious diseases—maintaining hygiene.
Hygiene is not only an individual responsibility; it is a collective obligation that directly affects the health of those around us. Failing to adhere to basic hygiene principles is one of the leading causes of many infectious diseases, such as diarrheal diseases, respiratory infections, and skin diseases.
During the training, volunteers were introduced to relevant information and data from the World Health Organization related to hygiene, the different segments of hygiene, practical advice for its implementation, and the use of personal protective equipment in everyday life, as well as in crisis and emergency situations.
