Participation in the Workshop “Community Engagement in Emergency Health Situations” – Mapping of Community Structures
On December 2-3, representatives from the Red Cross of North Macedonia participated in a workshop “Community Engagement in Emergency Health Situations” – Mapping of Community Structures, organized by the Regional Office of the World Health Organization for North Macedonia. The workshop also included participants from the Ministry of Health, civil society organizations, UNICEF, UNFPA, USAID, and other relevant institutions.
The goal of the workshop was to strengthen the country’s capacities for community involvement before, during, and after emergency health situations. It also aimed to establish structures, systems, and skills for cooperation between the Ministry of Health, the World Health Organization, and civil society organizations, in order to engage communities in preparedness and response to emergency health situations.
Communities play a key role in addressing emergency health situations, and it is essential to build local capacities for rapid and effective response to challenges that may arise in such circumstances. This workshop, in addition to enhancing community involvement in health preparedness, also fostered solidarity and trust among the various institutions and organizations working on the ground.
