Marking the Week for combating Tuberculosis (September 14-21)
The Red Cross of the Republic of North Macedonia will mark the Week for combating Tuberculosis from September 14-21, 2024. In this way, we aim to raise public awareness about the importance of general health, the social and economic impact of tuberculosis (TB), and to encourage accelerated efforts to end the global TB epidemic.
Tuberculosis remains a deadly killer worldwide. Every day, over 4,000 people die from TB, and nearly 30,000 people contract this preventable and treatable disease.
This year’s motto for the Week for combating Tuberculosis by the Red Cross of the Republic of North Macedonia is: “Let’s End TB.” During the week, local Red Cross organizations and the City Red Cross of of Skopje will organize workshops, share social media posts, and conduct various promotional activities to raise public awareness for the prevention and timely diagnosis of tuberculosis.
