October 18 – European Anti-Trafficking Day
The Macedonian Red Cross as a member of the Secretariat of the National Commission for Combating Trafficking in Human Beings and Illegal Migration by organizing preventive activities is taking part in the marking of the 18th of October – European Anti-Trafficking Day. On the occasion of October 18, workshops for peer education of young people in primary and secondary schools will be organized through the Red Cross branches Kisela Voda, Karpos, Kocani, Demir Hisar, Gostivar, Kavadarci, Kichevo, Negotino, Ohrid, Radovis , Resen, Struga, Veles, Berovo, Debar, Delcevo, Makedonski Brod and Sveti Nikole.
Preventive lessons are aimed at raising the awareness of young people, recognizing the ways in which young people can be involved in human trafficking and their self-protection. Over a total of 20 educational workshops will cover over 500 students from elementary and high schools. On the occasion of the day, the Municipal Organization of the Red Cross Krushevo will organize a forum theater with students from the high school in Krushevo.
On October 18, a public awareness-raising event will be organized in GTC-Skopje with a simulation of victims of human trafficking and traffickers, organized by the Youth Club of the Red Cross Center.
