Promotion of the achieved results from the campaign
The Red Cross of RNM organized an event on June 19, 2023 in the Mother Teresa Memorial House – Skopje, with the aim of promoting the achieved results of the campaign. The event was attended by the Secretary General of the Red Cross of RNM, PhD. Sait Saiti, the Minister of Education and Science, Dr. Jeton Shaqiri, the Deputy Minister of Health, Dr. Maja Manoleva, and the Mayor of the City of Skopje, Mrs. Danela Arsovska.
The Red Cross of the Republic of North Macedonia, with its authority and long-term work in the area of promotion and development of first aid, contributes to the provision of efficient and quality first aid services. In the period from May 2022 to March 2023, the Red Cross of RNM conducted a campaign for first aid under the motto “First aid saves life” intended for students from primary and secondary schools aged 12-18 years on the territory of the Republic of North Macedonia. The main goal of the campaign was to raise awareness among the young population about the importance of first aid as a life-saving skill. Within the campaign, the Red Cross branches conducted 736 first aid trainings and educated a total of 28,206 students from primary and secondary schools in the country who acquired basic knowledge and skills for providing first aid. The trainings were conducted by 242 lecturers and 195 first aid demonstrators according to a program adapted for school-aged children.
At the event, a memorandum of cooperation was signed with the Ministry of Education and Science, and in gratitude for the cooperation so far, certificates of appreciation were awarded to the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Education and Science, the Minister of Education and Science Dr. Jeton Shaqiri and the Mayor of the City of Skopje, Mrs. Danela Arsovska. The city first aid competition was also visited.
