Strengthening cross-border preparedness through joint management of stock reserves for emergency situations in South-Eastern Europe

A final conference was held within the framework of the project: Strengthening cross-border preparedness through joint management of commodity reserves for emergency situations in Southeast Europe in the period from June 7-9, 2023 in Bulgaria – Sofia, organized by the Bulgarian Red Cross Bulgaria.

At the conference, the partners demonstrated the achieved results within the X-Stock project: prepared analyzes of disaster management systems for stock reserves, mechanisms for international assistance and recommendations for improvements, standard operating procedures for sharing, providing and receiving international humanitarian aid from stock reserves in case of disasters from partner countries, as well as an online platform for sharing and rapid cross-border delivery of available humanitarian aid supplies.

At the conference, an agreement was signed on cross-border assistance and for the continuation of cooperation and expansion of the network of partner organizations participating in the X-Stock mechanism in the coming years.

The Secretaries General of the national societies from the region who are partners in the project, participated online on the conference and expressed their opinions about the project, the signed cross-border cooperation agreements and the support they will provide in the future for the use and development of X-STOCK and the cooperation in the area of disaster response.
