Workshop on protecting the integrity of the Red Cross of RNM

In the period July 3-5, 2023, a workshop was held at Hotel Solferino Struga on the topic of protection of the integrity of the Red Cross of the Republic of North Macedonia with a special focus on prevention of sexual exploitation and abuse and protection of children. The workshop was attended by representatives of employees from the Headquarters of the Red Cross of RNM, Red Cross of the City of Skopje, 3 Presidents and 5 Secretaries of the local branch offices. The workshop itself was led by May Rose Malone and Alexandra Denis, representatives of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, as well as Huda Abu Hassan – representative of the British Red Cross.

During the workshop, the existing norms of the National Society related to the protection of integrity and the challenges in their application were discussed, examples and positive practices in other National Societies were shared, and a self-assessment exercise for the National Society was carried out by identifying areas for improvement along with a plan with future activities.

The workshop was conducted within the framework of the project “Upgrading the capacities of the Red Cross of RNM for integrity protection” supported by the Capacity Building Fund of the IFRC.
