34th International Conference
The 34th International Conference of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement was held in Geneva in the period of October 28-31, 2024, with the participation of 177 out of a total of 191 national Red Cross and Red Crescent societies, representatives of the ICRC and IFRC, representatives from the States parties to the Geneva Conventions, as well as representatives from numerous international organizations, donors, and supporters, totaling 2,200 individuals.
Through various plenary sessions and smaller group discussions, resolutions were adopted to foster a global culture of respect for International Humanitarian Law (IHL), adherence to the Fundamental Principles in responding to humanitarian needs and risks, and enabling sustainable, locally led activities.
The Red Cross of the Republic of North Macedonia was represented at the conference by President Prof. Dr. Romel Velev, and Vladimir Vukelić desk officer at the Head office, while the Ambassador of the Permanent Mission of the Republic of North Macedonia to the United Nations in Geneva, Mrs. Teuta Agai-Demjaha, and Aleksandar Trajkovski, Secretary, attended the Conference on behalf of the state.
