TRAINING PROGRAM FOR PERSONAL ASSISTANT FOR PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES

The program for personal assistance for persons with disabilities is a verified program by the Center for Adult Education.

The Red Cross of the Republic of North Macedonia is a verified organization, by the Ministry of Education and Science for the implementation of the program, which as an Educational Training Center for Adults conducts trainings in the following municipalities, through:

Purpose of the training program

The purpose of the training program is for the candidate to acquire professional skills for personal assistant to persons with disabilities and to obtain a state-recognized certificate.

The candidate in the program will be able to plan, prepare and organize his/her work independently in the home of the client and / or under the supervision of an expert in institutions. He / she will perform the tasks in accordance with the ethical norms and methods of communication with persons with disabilities, applying the basic medical knowledge and skills for basic care. The candidate will learn to provide psychological and social support, support in daily activities and to provide home care, to use certain methods and techniques for personal hygiene and nutrition, to apply techniques for changing bedding and clothing, and to provide support for physiological needs, how to apply procedures for using devices and equipment in this process, how to work in a team, to communicate and be proactive in providing the service, how to maintain hygiene and tidiness of the environment, how to prevent infections, to take care of the quality of the

The programme comprises of 4 modules (theoretical and practical part and on-the-job training):

Module 1:    Basic knowledge of the types of disabilities, types of aids and their utilization

Module 2: Assistance at the workplace, in the educational process and in the community

Module 3:      Help in the client’s home

Module 4:      Communication

Duration of the training: The training is conducted in a period of 3 months for the 4 Modules, a total of 216 classes (84 classes of theoretical teaching to be used for the practical training of 132 classes, which is conducted in the homes of the clients and/or institutions for sheltering persons with disabilities, specialized institutions and/or in institutions for organized daily stay).

Type of Certificate: After completing the training, the candidate will obtain a state-recognized certificate – personal assistant for persons with disabilities.

Price of the training: 20.000 Den.

Criteria for attending the training: The candidate for attending the training should meet the following general criteria:

  • Completed secondary education
  • To be over the age of 18

If a group of at least 8 candidates is formed, the Red Cross will organize training.

Note: If the training is free of charge and is organized with the support of a donor, the Red Cross sets additional criteria for the selection of candidates.

TRAINING PROGRAM FOR CAREGIVERS FOR ASSISTANCE AND CARE FOR ELDERLY AND PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES

The Nursing Program for Assistance and Care of the Elderly and Persons with Disabilities is a verified program by the Center for Adult Education.

The Red Cross of the Republic of North Macedonia is a verified organization by the Ministry of Education and Science for the implementation of the program, which as an Educational Training Center conducts trainings in the following municipalities, through:

Purpose of the training program

 

The purpose of the training program is for the candidate to acquire knowledge, skills and competencies for providing assistance and care to people who due to age, chronic diseases, disability, etc. reasons are frail and unable to take care of themselves, and obtaining a state-recognized certificate.

 

The candidate who will follow this program, after its completion will be able to perform the following activities: he/she will work effectively, communicate and provide psycho-social support; will provide assistance in the home of the elderly and frail and persons with disabilities and will nurture and assist in the promotion of health and protection against disease.

 

The programme comprises of 3 modules (theoretical and practical part and on-the-job training):

Module 1: Works effectively, communicates and provides psycho-social support

Module 2: Helps in the home of the elderly and frail and people with disabilities

Module 3: Nurtures and helps promote health and disease protection

Duration of the training: The training is conducted in a period of 3 months for the 3 Modules, a total of 250 classes (115 classes of theoretical teaching and 135 classes, practical teaching in the classroom and on-the-job training).

Type of Certificate: After completing the training, the candidate will obtain a state-recognized certificate – care giver for assistance and care for elderly and people with disabilities.

Price of the training: 20.000 Den.

Criteria for attending the training: The candidate for attending the training should meet the following general criteria:

  • Completed primary education
  • To be over the age of 18

If a group of at least 8 candidates is formed, the Red Cross will organize training.
