Campaign on the occasion of “Week for combatting Hunger”

According to the latest global poverty statistics, approximately 9.2% of the world’s population, or around 700 million people, live in extreme poverty. In our country, data from the State Statistical Office shows that in 2020, the poverty rate was 28.1%. This means that 451,900 people live below the poverty line.

The Red Cross of the Republic of North Macedonia is once again participating in the global actions for combating hunger by organizing the campaign “Think of Us Too,” which will take place from October 16 to 22 through the Red Cross branches and the City Red Cross of Skopje. Through this campaign and many other humanitarian activities, the Red Cross contributes to the overall efforts in the country to reduce poverty and social exclusion among citizens.

In frames of the campaign, humanitarian actions will be organized to raise donations in cash and food in cooperation with the Chambers of Commerce in the Republic of North Macedonia, supported by companies, educational institutions, civil society organizations, and citizens.

Donations can be made to the Solidarity Fund account of the Red Cross of RNM: 300000001327966, Tax Number: 4030984271620, at Komercijalna Banka Skopje, as well as 100 denar donations by dialing the mobile phone numbers: 070/075/077 143 400.

The funds raised from the humanitarian actions will be used to provide food assistance to vulnerable target groups in communities across the country.
