Meeting of the President of the Red Cross of the Republic of North Macedonia and the Head of the World Health Organization Office for the Republic of North Macedonia
On 28.11.2024, in Skopje, the President of the Red Cross of the Republic of North Macedonia, Prof. Dr. Romel Velev, met with the newly appointed representative of the World Health Organization and Head of the WHO Office in North Macedonia, Dr. Akim Ali.
At the meeting, the President of the Red Cross of North Macedonia informed about the role of the Red Cross as an assistant to government institutions in dealing with the current health conditions in the country and future opportunities for cooperation.
Dr. Akim Ali recognized the importance of the Red Cross’s actions in the direction of prevention and raising awareness among the population about current health challenges, with a particular emphasis on the impact of climate change on health. At the same time, he highlighted the readiness to continue the cooperation between the WHO and the Red Cross of North Macedonia.
