November – Month of fight against addiction diseases

According to the calendar of traditional activities of the Red Cross of the Republic of North Macedonia, the month of November is dedicated to the fight against addiction diseases (drugs, alcohol, and cigarettes). This year, the focus of the activities for marking the month will be on the young population aged 12 to 19. We will mark the month under the motto “Educate Yourself and Make a Decision!”

To this end, the Red Cross branches and the City Red Cross of Skopje will organize peer education sessions for young people in primary and secondary schools throughout the Republic of North Macedonia and will share educational information on social media.

Throughout the month, we will also organize panel discussions for young people, inviting experts who work on these issues (social work centers, health institutions, and/or organizations) to speak on the harmful consequences of addictions and to provide guidance for prevention.
