Promotion of the Development Framework of the Red Cross of RNM, Transformation-28
On October 17, 2023, the Red Cross of RNM organized an event to promote the new five-year Development Framework of the Red Cross of RNM, Transformation-28. At the event that took place in the Alexander Palace Hotel, the Red Cross of RNM presented the ambitions and commitments of the national society for comprehensive changes in 24 areas, targeted for strengthening the capacities of the Red Cross of RNM, promotion of partnership cooperation with various stakeholders and developing and introducing services to improve the life of the population in local communities.
In the first part of the promotional event, Prof. Romel Velev and the Secretary General of the Red Cross of RNM, PhD. Sait Saiti addressed the audience and spoke about the comprehensive consultation process with the partner organizations in the process of preparing the Development Framework of the Red Cross of RNM “Transformation-28” and the thematic areas and contents that are an integral part of the publication, as well as the action plan for its implementation. The Minister of Labor and Social Policy, Mrs. Jovana Trenchevska also addressed the present audience on behalf of the Government of the Republic of North Macedonia – patron of the event, emphasizing the importance and contribution of the Red Cross in improving the life, health and safety of citizens in our country.
In the second part of the event, two panel discussions were held with the participation of experts from social life from our country and abroad on the following topics:
Panel discussion 1: “Building a healthy and safe society and the need for efficient mobilization of resources to respond to contemporary humanitarian challenges”, which was moderated by Mr. Aleksandar Krzhalovski. Panelists at the event were: Dr. Fatmir Mexhiti, Minister of Health; Mrs. Jovana Trenchevska, Minister of Labor and Social Policy; Mr. Zivko Mukaetov, General Director of Alkaloid AD Skopje; prof. dr. Dragan Radovanović, President of the Red Cross of Serbia and Mr. Armen Gregorian, Permanent Representative of the UNDP.
The second panel discussion was on the topic: “Modalities and opportunities for providing a more efficient response in emergency situations” and was moderated by Prof. dr. Nikola Dujovski. Panelists at the event were: Mr. Oliver Spasovski, Minister of Internal Affairs; Mr. Agim Nuhiu, Deputy Minister of Education and Science, Mr. Stojanche Angelov, Director of the Center for Crisis Management; Mr. Robert Markt, Executive President of the Croatian Red Cross; PhD. Sait Saiti, Secretary General of the Red Cross of the Republic of North Macedonia.
During the two panel discussions, the eminent participants from the country and abroad, emphasized the significance of the contribution of the Red Cross in the provision of complementary services for improvement of the lives of citizens and the enhancement of the overall system for crisis management in disasters, emergencies and peacetime.
