Advocacy and communication in front of the media

The Red Cross of Macedonia and the Humanity Association within the framework of the Regional project “Taking of activities for social inclusion of the elderly”, financed by the European Union, from 19 to 21 October 2018 in the Center Solferino “in Struga held a workshop on” Advocacy and communication to the media “. The aim of the workshop was to acquaint the members of the inclusion network for social inclusion of the elderly with knowledge and skills for advocacy and communication in front of the media.For the education of the workshop was hired Marjan Tanushevski, MD, editor-in-chief of MIA. The workshop was attended by a total of 24 representatives of citizens ‘associations, members of the Inclusion network, representatives of citizens’ associations, winners of grants for implementation of micro projects for social inclusion of the elderly and representatives of governmental institutions During the workshop the following topics were covered:Requirements , factors and conditions for advocacy and communication in front of the media; Similarities and differences in advocacy and lobbying processes in the media; Communications in front of the media, public speaking, fear of public appearance; Direct and indirect communication with the public; Advocacy and communication in front of traditional and new media, communication in crisis situations.

In the interactive process of the workshop, several examples, debates and dialogues were realized in the function of the communication skills of the participants for advocacy in front of the media. The shared experiences in the educational workshop will be useful both for the purpose of daily activities and the mission of the network of citizens’ associations Include.
