Information and communication, an important segment for promotion of activities for restoring family links

In order to improve the response to the challenges of the network for restoring family links and effective integration with the information and communication activities related to the migrant crisis that has hit the region in the past, the Regional Office of the International Committee of the Red Cross in Belgrade on 15 and 16 November has organized a meeting of the coordinators and field workers for restoring family links and persons responsible for information and communication in the National Red Cross Societies of Macedonia, Serbia, Croatia, Slovenia, Montenegro, Albania, Romania and Hungary.

The topics that were discussed at the meeting made a blend of the work done so far on the plan of restoring family links and plans for further action, with particular attention being paid to the structure of the information and communication departments in the national societies present at the meeting and the manner of cooperation of these two sections during the migration crisis. From the meeting, a joint conclusion was reached that this cooperation has significantly contributed to the promotion of restoring family links activities in all national societies that addressed the problems of migrants and emphasized this activity as a priority in the work of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement.
