Signed agreements with 12 civil society organizations to support projects for social inclusion of the elderly
Within the framework of the Regional project “Taking action for social inclusion of the elderly” financed by the European Union, financially supported by the Austrian Red Cross and the Austrian Development Agency, the Macedonian Red Cross and the Association Humanity as joint project partners issued a call to civic associations to support projects for social inclusion of the elderly. On the basis of the evaluation made, 12 civil society associations were selected.
The Macedonian Red Cross and Humanity on November 1, 2017 held a meeting with representatives of the civil associations where the agreements for support of the projects for social inclusion of the elderly people were signed. The Secretary General of the Macedonian Red Cross, Mr. Sait Saiti, congratulated the civil society grantees of the sub-grants and expressed satisfaction with their interest to engage and contribute in achieving better social inclusion of the elderly in the communities .
The representatives of the civil associations were also greeted by the Executive Director of Humanity, Mr. Sashko Jovanov, who among other things emphasized the importance of the offered project initiatives that will stimulate the active participation of the elderly, and emphasize the issues related to the priorities of the elderly, especially regarding their better social inclusion.
The representatives of the civic associations expressed gratitude to the Macedonian Red Cross and Humanity for the provided support of the projects activities intended for increased participation of the elderly in the social life.
At the meeting, instructions were also given on the implementation of the process of implementation of the project initiatives which the civil associations will have the opportunity to implement within a period of ten months.
