Cooperation between the Military Medical Center and the Center for Mental Health and Psycho-Social Support
Within the cooperation of the Center for Mental Health and Psycho-Social Support of the Red Cross of RNM and the Military Medical Center at the Army of the RNM, psychologists and persons trained in psycho-social support conducting two meetings to exchange experiences.
The first meeting was held on 14.06.2023 at the Center for Mental Health and Psycho-Social Support, where 8 psychologists from the Army of RNM and the Military Medical Center had the opportunity to hear the basics of psychological first aid and psycho-social support within the framework of the Red Cross. The initiative resulted due to the similarities in the operation, such as wars, disasters and traumas, as well as previous experiences in conducting debriefing meetings during earthquakes and floods that both institutions have.
The second meeting was held in the premises of the Military Medical Center, where 11 psychologists and persons trained in psycho-social support by the Red Cross had the opportunity to gain knowledge in the field of psychological support and the role of psychologists in the Military Medical Center.
The main goal of these meetings was to present the principles and theoretical foundations on which the work of psychologists is based in their institutions, exchange of methods and tools for work and networking, as well as presentation of support models that include other trained persons for psycho-social support, but also peer support within the teams working in the field.
The two meetings proved to be particularly significant for both institutions, practical exercises and recommendations were exchanged that enhanced the capacities of 19 psychologists and persons trained in psycho-social support.
