EVACUATION SIMULATION EXERCISE “ACIBADEM SISTINA”
Organized by the Directorate for Protection and Rescue, in the period from 22-23 June 2018, the training on the topic Evacuation of patients, wounded, staff and visitors of the hospitals was held, for an earthquake scenario.
The workshop was attended by representatives of the civil defense from Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia and Hercegovina, Montenegro, Romania, Bulgaria and Turkey, and representatives from the Macedonian Red Cross and the Territorial Fire Brigade of the City of Skopje. The aim of the workshop was to check the procedures of evacuation of the “Acibadem Sistina” hospital, and to prepare the teams who are responsible for the evacuation of people, their transport across the river, first aid, and for providing accommodation to the patients/wounded in triage centers, in cases of disasters. The Macedonian Red Cross attended the exercise with a team of 6 people. After the exercise was finished, a briefing was held, where the participants and guests had the opportunity to exchange experiences and expertise regarding the simulation exercise. The representative of the Macedonian Red Cross, Ali Samet, mentioned the good coordination of the teams, as well as the good organization of the “Acibadem Sisitina” hospital, which is one of the most successful institutions regarding the implementation of the evacuation plans in cases of disaster which derive from the Law for Protection and Rescue.
