Event on the occasion of the World Elder Abuse Awareness Day

The International Network for the Prevention of Elder Abuse (INPEA) in 2006 declared June 15 as the World Elder Abuse Awareness Day. This day in 2011 was designated as the International Day of the United Nations. This year the theme for the day is “Access to Justice”. Access to justice is a fundamental right in itself and a basic precondition for the protection and promotion of all human rights.

On the occasion of the World Day, the Red Cross of Serbia and the Red Cross of Austria on June 15, 2021 organize an online event which will be followed by the Red Cross of RNM. The panel session will discuss ways to overcome barriers and provide examples of access to justice for the elderly, victims of violence, abuse and neglect, including during the current COVID 19 pandemic.
