Marking the Week of Hygine (08-15 April 2023)

The Red Cross of the Republic of North Macedonia is marking the Week of Hygiene under the motto “Hygiene – personal obligation for collective health“, in the period from April 8 to 15, 2023, according to the calendar of traditional activities,

Hygiene promotion is a fundamental part of the water and sanitation activities of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies. The goal is to increase public health awareness and disease prevention related to poor hygiene practices. The figures from the World Health Organization show that 1.7 million deaths a year are attributable to unsafe water, sanitation and hygiene.

In order to jointly contribute to raising public awareness on the importance of proper and regular hygiene among the young population, the Red Cross branches and the City Red Cross of Skopje will share posts on social networks and organize educational workshops and lectures for the promotion of hygiene in children and teachers from kindergartens and primary schools.
