Marking the Week of the fight against HIV/AIDS (December 1-7)

In accordance with the calendar of traditional activities, the Red Cross of the Republic of North Macedonia, will mark the Week of the fight against HIV/AIDS, under the motto “Knowledge is the best prevention of HIV infection” in the period of December 1-7, 2022.

According to the World Health Organization, HIV remains a major public health problem affecting more than 2 million people in the European region, while worldwide 37,700,000 adults and children are infected with HIV. Although significant progress has been made over the past few decades, the important targets set for 2021 have not been met.

Within the Week, the Red Cross branches will undertake activities in order to jointly contribute to raising public awareness among the young population by conducting educational peer workshops in secondary schools.
