THE RED CROSS SENT THE FIRST SHIPMENT OF HUMANITARIAN AID TO TÜRKIYE

The humanitarian assistance of the Red Cross of North Macedonia is going today to the regions affected by the earthquakes in Türkiye and Syria last Monday.

The Secretary General of the Red Cross of RNM, PhD. Sait Saiti, stated that to this day, a total of 25,120,773 denars have been raised. Today we are here together with the Ambassador of the Republic of Türkiye to the RNM, Mr. Hasan Mehmet Sekizkök to send initial humanitarian aid in material means of the Red Cross of the RNM. The shipment consists of 800 food parcels, 1,700 hygiene parcels and 4,000 blankets. This is an initial humanitarian aid and we look forward to raising additional aid in the coming period in cooperation with firms and companies.

In consultation with the Turkish Red Crescent, it was emphasized that there is a need to collect material humanitarian aid, primarily blankets, tents, sleeping bags, and gas lamps. Regarding other humanitarian aid, we appeal once again for donation of groceries (packages with food and hygiene), new ones, according to the minimum standards for humanitarian aid.

The Red Cross remains active and continues to implement humanitarian activities to help the affected population.
