A workshop for exchange of experiences and development of the participatory community development methodology was held
With the support of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, the project “Participatory Community Development” is being implemented this year through two Red Cross branches Negotino and Centar.
Within the PCD project activities on October 6, 2017, the Macedonian Red Cross held a workshop with local coordinators of the PCD activities from the Red Cross of Skopje and the Red Cross branches Kavadarci, Prilep, Veles, Kriva Palanka, Struga, Delcevo, Debar, Negotino and Centar.
The purpose of the workshop was to exchange experiences so far and to give suggestions for the development and application of the PCD tool in the Red Cross program activities.
At the workshop, present achievements were presented through the application of the program on national and local level. Positive practices and challenges in the implementation of the activities were presented.
From the discussion of the local coordinators, it was emphasized that the PWR is an important tool that the Macedonian Red Cross should develop and apply in the future in other municipal organizations that are not covered by it. It was pointed out that by applying the PCD, the methodology at the local level positively influences the community by mobilizing and strengthening the capacities and motivating them for new initiatives to meet the priority needs for improving the living conditions and social life of the community.
