18 October – European Day for combatting Trafficking in human beings

The Red Cross of the Republic of North Macedonia as a member of the Secretariat of the National Commission for Combating Trafficking in Human Beings and Illegal Migration by organizing preventive activities is marking the European Day for combating Trafficking in human beings – October 18. On the occasion of October 18th, peer education workshops for young people in primary and secondary schools will be organized by the City Red Cross of Skopje and the Red Cross branches Centar, Karposh, Chair, Kisela Voda, Gazi Baba, Veles, Bitola , Prilep, Ohrid, Negotino, Sveti Nikole, Kavadarci, Radovish, Strumica, Gostivar, Tetovo, Struga, Demir Hisar, Resen, Kochani, Kumanovo, Shtip and Gevgelija.

 

Preventive lessons are aimed for raising awareness of young people, recognizing the ways in which young people can be involved in human trafficking and their self-protection. A total of 28 educational workshops and public events will cover over 700 primary and secondary school students, volunteers and Red Cross staff as well as the general public.
