27 ANNIVERSARY OF THE RECOGNITION OF RED CROSS OF RNM

Today is an occasion to share another memory from the history of our National Society. Namely, on November 1, 1995, the Red Cross of the Republic of North Macedonia was officially recognized by the International Committee of the Red Cross.

Some of the most important preconditions for the recognition of the national Red Cross Society of the Republic of North Macedonia were:

  1. Adoption of the Geneva Conventions of August 12, 1949 and Additional Protocols of 1977. On August 25, 1993, the Government of the Republic of North Macedonia ratified the aforementioned documents.
  2. On July 26, 1994, the Assembly of the Republic of North Macedonia adopted the Law on the Red Cross of the Republic of North Macedonia.

Today we mark the 27th anniversary of the official recognition of the Red Cross of the Republic of North Macedonia as a voluntary, massive, independent, non-partisan and independent humanitarian organization of the citizens of the Republic of North Macedonia.
