In the period from 20.01.2021 to 28.01.2021, the Red Cross of the Republic of North Macedonia, within the project “Support facility to mitigate Covid-19 economic and psychological consequences for vulnerable categories of citizens”, supported by Business and Strategies in Europe – B&S Europe conducted 6 trainings for trainers for Psychological First Assistance and Psycho-social support, as well as PFA PSS for telephone lines.
The trainings were conducted by external experts in the field of psychology and psychotherapy, online through the ZOOM platform.
The trainings were attended by 38 participants, staff and volunteers of the Red Cross, who during the trainings acquired the basic postulates of providing first aid and psycho-social support in the field, and through telephone lines, including interactive exercises with discussion and explanations of the theoretical background.
Participants had the opportunity to introduce themselves in the role of trainer and thus practically practice the training that they are expected to further multiply in their Red Cross branches.
In each module of the training, the attendees showed interest, actively participated in the activities by asking questions and sharing experiences. The trained participants are expected in the future to take part of the Center for Psychological First Assistance and Psycho-Sociological Support within the National Society, whose established system will be unique on the territory of the Republic of North Macedonia.
