The importance of the last period is remarkable because of the successful project application of the Macedonian Red Cross funded by the Capacity Development Fund of the International Federation. Besides the funding provided by the Capacity Development Fund of the International Federation, allthe implemented activities in the previous period and in the forthcoming two years, will be also supported through the Development Fund of Macedonian Red Cross, which means that MacedonianRed Cross is a equal partner to International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies inthe implementation of the project.
This three year project is targeted for development of the material and technical capacities and human resources on national and branch level in order Macedonian Red Cross to be able tobetter cope with the challenges that the vulnerable population is facing in the local communities.

The project activities, which began in 2008 were implemented in three programme areas, as follows: building efficient information management system, management of volunteers and staff and mobilization of funds. Mobilization of volunteers in local communities for covering the local needs is one of the priority tasks and objectives of each national society. Therefore, one of the priority activities of Macedonian Red Cross was development of new forms and modalities for recruitment and retention of volunteers for implementation of the daily activities, as well as undertaking measures for more efficient management of the human resources and the financial assets for fulfilling the objectives of the organization in an effective and efficient way. This national project was divided into three phases in which there were implemented 12 projects for increasing the numbers of volunteers in every phase from deferent local branches. Every year of the implementation of the project was proceeded by the development of the Interesting network for volunteer management in witch were developed important documents for management with volunteers.
The successful implementation of the project for intensified capacity building resulted with presentation of the project on several international meetings of the Movement, emphasizing the positive aspects from the project implementation and sharing our experiences with many national societies in the region and wider.
