Held workshop for Educating educators for Tuberculosis
During 12th to 14th March 2014, in the Educational Center “Solferino” in Struga a workshop was held for educating educators for tuberculosis within the project DOTS interventions in Republic of Macedonia, which is financially supported by the The Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria.
Macedonian Red Cross is implementing this project in the last few years, in its efforts to contribute towards maintaining control of tuberculosis in our country.
The goal of the workshop was for the participants from the Red Cross Local Branches from Valandovo, Kichevo, Struga and Kavadarci to gain knowledge about the tuberculosis, to meet the other local teams, to improve their communication and team skills, as well as their personal confidence and communication with various vulnerable groups. Also other goal of the workshop was for the participants to learn a methodology for presenting health tips and recommendations, as well as how to report their implemented activities within the project.
The workshop was held in cooperation with the Institute for Pulmonary Diseases and Tuberculosis. MD Maja Zakoska from the Institute, was responsible for the medical part for tuberculosis, while the other part regarding Communication skilss, was held by PhD Sunchica Dimitrijoska from the Institute of Social politics and social work. The educated educators, in the future will implement the project activities in their Red Cross Local Branches
