Improving the socialization of children and youth with special needs

Today, on 14.12.2017 in the Macedonian National Theater in Skopje, organized by the City Red Cross of Skopje, a Humanitarian Bazaar was held, which is actually a final event of the annual activities realized within the Project “Improving the socialization of children and youth with special needs “, which is implemented by the Macedonian Red Cross with the support of Komercijalna Banka AD Skopje.
At the event there were exposed 80 paintings, handmade works, which are the joint fruit of the children from the day centers, the Red Cross volunteers, the employees of the Daily Center, as well as with the support of artists from the municipalities. The attendees had the opportunity to select an image and to donate funds to support the project activities.
The event was addressed by the Secretary General of the Macedonian Red Cross, Mr. Sait Saiti, who expressed his great gratitude to Komercijalna Banka AD Skopje for the fruitful cooperation and trust in the Macedonian Red Cross as a partner in the implementation of socially beneficial social programs, which as a successful example is the seven-year continuous support and joint implementation of the project activities for improving the socialization of children and youth with special needs.
By Mrs. Maja Stevkova Sterieva, Chief Financial Officer and member of the Board of Directors of Komercijalna Banka, satisfaction was expressed with the cooperation with the Red Cross in support of the activities aimed at improving the socio-cultural level and the quality of life of children and youth with special needs. The employees of the bank are part of the implementation of these activities, which confirm their social responsibility.
Mrs. Sonja Kiprovska, acting director of the Institute for Social welfare, emphasized the long-standing cooperation with the Red Cross in the implementation of joint initiatives for improving the socialization of children with special needs, and pointed out that he hopes that these partnership relations will develop and in the future in the direction of improving the well-being of people with disabilities.
The project activities covered about 250 children with special needs at the age of 5-18 years, covered in day centers in Skopje, Gostivar, Prilep, Kavadarci, Veles, Debar, Kicevo, Delcevo and children from foster families in Skopje, Prilep and Veles . The activities are implemented through the City Red Cross of Skopje, the Red Cross branches Gostivar, Prilep, Kavadarci, Veles, Debar, Kicevo, Delcevo, in cooperation with the day centers for children with special needs in these municipalities.
