Instructional workshop on implementation of the service for home assistance and care

The Red Cross of RNM within the framework of the CONEX Balkan Project “COVID 19 response to improve the socio-economic situation of marginalized people in 6 countries in the Western Balkans”, supported by the Austrian Development Agency and the Austrian Red Cross, organized an instructional workshop for providing guidelines for implementation of the social service for home assistance and care for older people, as well as to share positive experiences from the delivery of the service. The training was conducted in the educational training center “Solferino” in Struga on April 7 and 8, 2023.

Representatives of seven Red Cross branches involved in project activities participated in the workshop. The local coordinators of the service for home assistance and care from the Red Cross branches and the City Red Cross of Skopje, which implement this type of service in their communities, also participated in the workshop in order to share positive practices regarding the delivery of the service.

A representative of the Ministry of Labor and Social Policy was also present at the workshop, who informed about the standards and norms for providing the service, as well as about the licensing process for social service providers, information that was especially useful for the representatives of the Red Cross branches to initiate the home care services.
