Participation of a representative of the Red Cross of RNM on a meeting for the establishment of Emergency Medical Teams for Western Balkans countries

In the period from September 27 to 28, 2023, a working meeting was held in Belgrade, Republic of Serbia, to identify opportunities and methods to support the introduction of the initiative for Emergency Medical Teams in the Western Balkans. The working meeting was organized by the WHO Regional Office for Europe and the WHO Office in Serbia.

The workshop was attended by representatives from Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, Moldova, Montenegro, North Macedonia and Serbia.

The main objective of the workshop was to identify opportunities and methods to support the introduction of the Emergency Medical Teams initiative in the Western Balkans to help strengthen the country’s capacity to respond to national emergencies and epidemics, contributing to its own health security through deployment of quality clinical and public health teams.
