Realized Large Group Workshop within the project for drawing up local action and strategic plan for improvement of the tuberculosis control in the Municipality of Valandovo

Large Group Workshop for drawing up local action and strategic plan for improvement of the tuberculosis control in the Municipality of Valandovo was realized on October 3, 2014 in Valandovo, funded by the Ministry of Health with the grant for tuberculosis provided by the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria.

The project, using the methodology for Mutual development of the communities (methodology of the International Federation of the Red Cross and the Red Crescent), has the purpose to determine the priorities and problems with regards to the tuberculosis at local level and create sustainable and efficient activities which will contribute to the early detection of tuberculosis, greater success in treatment and raising the public awareness for this disease, which shall be included within the local action plan of the Municipality of Valandovo.

The representatives of the Red Cross of the Republic of Macedonia, the municipal organization of the Red Cross of Valandovo, representative of the local self-government of Valandovo, social and health representatives and representatives from the educational sector attended the Workshop.The goal of the Workshop was to introduce the attendants with the results derived from the field research, conducted throughout the project, with the purpose to present the current condition, the level of awareness of the population, to determine the needs and problems with regards to the tuberculosis.  The plan is expected to be prepared throughout September and submitted to the local self-government for approval thereof.
