The Foundation Day of the Red Cross of RNM and Blood donation Day in RNM
It’s a great honor and privilege to address you and to congratulate you the Foundation Day of the Red Cross of North Macedonia, March 17th. Today we remind ourselves of our fellow citizens – visionaries and humane people who, way back in 1945, decided to unite and officially formalize the humanitarian journey of the Red Cross in our country, following the principles of Anry Dunant and the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement.
We are happy to say that in the past 79 years our organization has been continuously growing, developing and upgrading, and has recorded exceptional results in the implementation of numerous humanitarian activities in national and international frameworks, giving its own modest contribution to the improvement of the health and well-being of citizens, especially to the target groups we serve in the Republic of North Macedonia, but also through our participation in numerous humanitarian campaigns to help victims of disasters in many countries around the world.
We are especially proud that our humanitarian efforts are recognized and highly valued by institutions and partners in our country and internationally, but above all by our fellow citizens who continuously provide support with financial resources and donations, but also through volunteering and participation in the work of our organization.

You cannot learn Humanity. We carry it and it is part of us and our spirit. We are proud to be constantly surrounded by humane people, who show their solidarity and desire to help people who need support on daily basis. At the same time, we are happy to have the privilege as a volunteer organization to unite the wishes, expertise and humanity of our volunteers in the local communities, so we can be present at any time and wherever needed, especially in crisis situations, when help is most needed.
Not by chance, on the day of our foundation, we also celebrate the Blood donation Day in the Republic of North Macedonia. Our blood donors are our inspiration – people who express their solidarity and humanity every day to help and give a part of themselves for the well-being of others.
Voluntary blood donation is an expression of highly ethical, humanitarian and moral values that distinguish the army of blood donors in our country. We are proud that the Red Cross of North Macedonia, for many years together with the Institute for Transfusion Medicine and the Ministry of Health, have been recording exceptional results in the field of blood donation.
Congratulations and gratitude to all our blood donors and partners who contribute together and in solidarity to provide the necessary amounts of blood to meet the needs of the health system. Let me extend a special gratitude to all our Red Cross branches that achieved excellent results in the past year, far exceeding the set plan. At the same time, I want to assure you that as an organization we will continue to work with our partners to promote and model new activities that will allow us to keep up with new trends in blood donation and achieve even better results in the future.

Allow me, on behalf of the Red Cross of North Macedonia, once again to congratulate you March 17th, the Foundation Day of our national society and the Blood donation Day in North Macedonia.
