The three-day training for establishing the pilot phase of the Emergency Button service in the Red Cross of the Republic of North Macedonia has started
The Red Cross of the Republic of North Macedonia started the training for establishing the pilot phase of the Emergency Button service on the territory of the City of Skopje within the project “Development of business services for integrated care and support in the Red Cross of RNM” – a project supported by a business partnership of the Red Cross of RNM and the Austrian Development Agency, Austrian Red Cross and Swiss Red Cross,.
Emergency Button is a service for the elderly, which will allow clients to have a safe life in their homes 24/7.
In the first phase of this six-month pilot project, it is planned to involve 60 clients, and then an additional 50. The button will aim to provide an easy and effective way to of support for the elderly if and when needed. in an emergency situations in their homes.
The training is initially intended for the selected Emergency Rescuers, staff of the Emergency Button service, as well as staff of the Head Office of the Red Cross of RNM and the Red Cross of the City of Skopje and will take place in the period from 24 to 26 March 2021 in the premises of the Red Cross of RNM.
During the training, the participants will gain theoretical and practical knowledge and skills within the work of the service and its meaning, role and responsibilities. Additionally, participants will be introduced to the legal aspects, providing first aid to older people, practical scenarios they may face, caring for and dealing with clients, and the use of personal equipment, protection and personal hygiene.
