“We are all their children”

From November 14 to 20, 2022, the Red Cross of the Republic of North Macedonia is marking the “Week of care for older people” under the motto: “We are all their children”. The purpose of marking the week is to raise public awareness on the need for increased integration of the older people in all spheres of social life, as well as the need to provide care and assistance to the older people.

UNFPA is supporting the marking of the week with which the Red Cross of RNM cooperates on specific issues related to the older population, as well as health prevention of vulnerable target population groups. Support is provided for the operation of 10 mobile teams for free of charge service for procurement and delivery of food, hygiene, medicine, etc. to older lonely persons. During the week, 30 informational workshops will be organized with the older people to introduce them with social and health protection rights in order to improve their quality of life and healthy aging.

The City Red Cross of Skopje and the Red Cross branches will also organize educational workshops on topics of interest to older citizens, thematic workshops to encourage social inclusion of the older people, as well as other types of activities for active and healthy aging.
